And... We're Live. So, About Those T-Shirts.
We're back online and you may have noticed that the web site is a little different this year. We are grey. Grey. Yes, you heard me - we're grey. Grey is the new black and it is cool. It took a number of discussions to get to this year's "colour" and you would think that such a decision could be made off the cuff and completely without a huge amount of thought. We change every year! Surely, our colour choices would number in the millions! The problem is, we have only so many t-shirt colours to pick from. Yah, I thought it was a little weird too. How could we be limited by colour! Yellow? Puce? Tangerine? (Oh, wait, we did that one already.)
We decided we needed to go completely meta. We adjoured to a dark hallway, deep within the Northern Voice bunker, cracked a bottle of white wine and talked about our emotions, t-shirt colours, the meaning of it all, how darkness made us feel...oh, did I not mention the lights were also turned off? We're cool that way. While we were all congratulating each other on how awesome we all were, it hit us. Why not adapt to the colour we had immersed ourselves in? (That would be darkness and black and...uhh, stuff.) Why not embrace a new direction? Why not take our collective selves and make a new colour? Yes, a new colour! We could totally do that! Jay-Z did it! Why not us!?
Grey it was. From the dark into the light, grey made a perfect solution to our dilemma. Personally, I can't think of a better colour than grey. It covers everything. We'd already visited the red, orange, blue, brown, green, and purple spectrums of the rainbow and we ran with it. Afterall, we're coming back into the downtown core of Vancouver and why not go colourless? Like all bloggers, we're practicing the fine art of expression and we've decided to go crazy with art, love, elaborate stories to just tell people how colours and t-shirts and stuff work and things with other things connected and how it all can work amazing well together while distracting people and making it all make sense in a crazy sort of way... and what exactly is the point of me writing about something like this?
Since we've picked grey as the official colour this year, we have some choices for the t-shirts. For years, people have wanted darker colours. For years, they wanted us to go black and grey and some other shades I can't remember right now. Here is your chance. Tell us what you think and fill out the t-shirt poll.
