Choosing a Blogging Platform

Basically, there are hundreds of options on how to set up a blog, and making the right decision on a platform could be hard: do you want something large and scalable, or do you want something lightweight to get you started? My talk will go over all the different ways to start a blog and the benefits/drawbacks of each.

Alex Blackie is a web designer, programmer, wannabe writer, and photographer. He writes:

I do not have a beard, though I’ve often wanted to grow one. I have two cats, and I play Minecraft sometimes.

I’ve spoken at a few events, and am always looking to expand my experience. My first speaking gig was at Wordcamp Victoria 2010, where I talked about building a Portfolio using WordPress’ custom post types. I’ve also spoken at a handful of WordPress meetups, and just recently I spoke art the TEDx Youth conference about how teachers are old and need to adapt to technology to keep up with their students.

Did I mention I love cats?
